The landscape is still relatively bare, but the first trees are starting to bloom and turn green. In the ridge regions of the Kammland Erzgebirge, it takes a bit longer for the greenery to fully establish. During a short hike from the Cranzahl reservoir up to the 898-meter-high Bärensteiner Berg, the elevation difference became very apparent. The vegetation was much more advanced in the valley than on the summit.
