A shelter has many advantages: it protects against rain, wind and cold. As a Bushcrafter, you should start building simple shelters at an early stage. It is not always important to build the perfect shelter, but to understand how a shelter works. Often on my tours I just keep building a frame for an shelter to practice. The knowledge and the skills gained are extremely useful if I really want to spend the night in a shelter. All hand movements are perfect and the building is easy.
