I recently captured a very special atmosphere near the “Morgensonne” (Morning Sun). After a very hot day, a thunderstorm passed over the Ore Mountains during the night, and in the early morning, the last fog patches lifted from the 832-meter-high Pöhlberg.

Today I hiked up the 832-meter-high Pöhlberg. From the top, you have a beautiful view over the region in both summer and winter. The hike will be part of my new book, “Viewpoints and Outlooks in the Ore Mountains,” which will be published this summer.

The mountains of the Ore Mountains have their own beauty in both summer and winter. On a tour through the Annaberg-Buchholz city forest, the setting evening sun created a beautiful play of colors. The 832-meter-high Pöhlberg near Annaberg-Buchholz was illuminated as if by a spotlight.
The hiking region around the forest ridge village of Königswalde is always worth a trip. A very beautiful route is the Rosehip Trail between Königswalde, Geyersdorf, and Mildenau. At many points, you are rewarded with beautiful views.
Temperatures are rising, and more and more people are being drawn to nature. Soon it will turn green again. From the upper Pöhlberg circular trail (832 meters), there are beautiful views of the historic town of Annaberg-Buchholz.
