Wolkenstein Switzerland

There isn’t just a Saxon Switzerland, but also a Wolkenstein Switzerland. Where? In the Erzgebirge.

In the early 20th century, under the initiative of the Erzgebirge Zweigverein, the area between Wolkenstein and Warmbad was developed as a hiking region. Today, it also offers rock climbing opportunities.

On either side of the Zschopau River rise impressive rock walls with bizarre formations. The viewpoint “Brückenklippe” is located about 65 meters above the river.

From there, it’s not far to the Anton-Günther-Höhe, which is 499 meters above sea level. From there, you can enjoy the view over the town of Wolkenstein to the 832-meter-high Pöhlberg and further east to the 993-meter-high Jelení Hora (Haßberg) in the Bohemian part of the Erzgebirge.
